The county requires registering your pets whether indoor or outdoor. If there was a hurricane and you had to check into a shelter with them, this should help the process, or if they get lost. My dogs are proud to wear their big green star badges to the dog beach and dog parks. It is a quick reference of current rabies if anything gets out if hand. The registration is affordable and easy to do online.
The county and city limit currently is 4 cats 4 dogs. No more. We ride that line pretty tightly and are glad they don’t account for bearded dragons.
Taking your dog to the beach to run is rolling the dice, we absolutely love to do that, but if an unleashed, unfriendly dog is also having a joy run, there is drama and lawsuits potentially. Please keep them leashed for everyone’s sake and mind the signs that say, NO DOGS ON BEACH or you can be fined up to $250. Also dogs that harass the wildlife get put on the evening news, especially during turtle season.
We love our vets very much at Wickham. As an old vet tech, I feel their practice is the most ethical and affordable without unnecessary charges. Their knowledge bases are solid and they stay up on the latest research. They’ve seen us at our worst and took care of ALL of us holistically and with so much kindness.
I hope you have fuzzy loved ones in your life. Rescuing is the best. Many times, our shelter offers free or reduced cost adoptions. Our sherrif means business about animal abusers and now Florida has an animal abuse registry. There is more to learn on the BCSO website. The other rescues in the area include Riley’s Rescue, Halo, Hope for Brevard, Tiny Kitten Rescue, SPCA several locations, including thrift shops for almost all of them. Molly Mutts, Hope for Brevard, and ASPCA Thrifts are great to support for home goods and clothes, pet supplies, etc.
